Eurovision Song Constest and Finnish Identity

Relating to the post of Maria about Similarities between European Union and The United States. It is interesting when the Finnish politician - in the article linked by Maria - recalls the Eurovision Song Contest, as an event that reinforces the sense of belonging (he uses some irony here). I was in Tampere last year for a conference and I had the chance to talk with some Finnish colleagues about the importance of the Eurovision for Finnishs; Lordi won the 2006 edition. I was quite suprise because I can not say that Italians today are very familiar with Euvorvision Song such as they are familiar with Sanremo, which still is, indeed, a quite popular national-folk event. These colleagues of mine have made a study on the use of the Internet by finnishes to straggle against a tabloid that published an imagine that supposed to be the real picture of Lordi. Similarities between European Union and The United States

Hi,
the Alexander Stubb's article is an interesting point of view about the recently seminar, anyways hi think that often every member states of europe follows a personal or individual target, instead a community targets; in economy, for example, we spend a lot of european money in bad solutions ( for the global members ). We have a great opportunity, but we have to play a good match, the power of team is the first step, later in this line we can do everything.
